The Adventure of Link

I actually really liked this game. I thought even for an 8-bit game it was pretty awesome. The music is pretty cool too.

Several years after the events of The Legend of Zelda, the now-sixteen-year-old Link notices a strange mark on the back of his left hand, exactly like the crest of Hyrule. He seeks out Impa, who responds by taking Link to the North Palace, where a door has been magically sealed for generations. Impa places the back of Link’s left hand on the door, and it opens, revealing a sleeping maiden. Impa tells Link that the maiden is Zelda, (not the Zelda from the first game) the princess of Hyrule from long ago, and the origin of the “Legend of Zelda”. Zelda’s brother (Zelda has a brother?) had tried to force her into telling their recently deceased father’s secrets concerning the last of three sacred golden triangle treasures of his kingdom, known collectively as the Triforce. Princess Zelda refused to reveal its location, and the prince’s wizard friend, in anger, tried to strike her down with a spell (Little bitch). Zelda fell under a powerful sleeping spell, but it also resulted in the wizard’s own death (In his FACE right?). The prince, unable to reverse the spell, had his sister placed in the castle tower, in the hope that she would one day be awakened. He decreed that princesses born to the royal family from that point on would be named Zelda, in remembrance of this tragedy.

Impa says that the mark on Link’s hand means that he is the hero chosen to awaken Zelda. She gives Link a chest containing six crystals and ancient writings that only a great future king of Hyrule can read. Link can read it and it indicates that each crystal needs to be placed in a different palace in Hyrule. This will open the way to the Great Palace, which contains the Triforce of Courage. This, combined with the other two parts, has the power to awaken the enchanted Zelda. Taking the crystals, Link sets out to restore them to their palaces. Meanwhile, the followers of Ganon are seeking to kill Link; sprinkling his blood on Ganon’s ashes would bring Ganon back to life.

Ultimately, Link restores the crystals to the six palaces, and with the crystals in place, the entrance to the Great Palace is opened. After venturing deep inside, Link is made to battle a shadowy duplicate of himself known as Link’s Shadow (or Dark Link). Link then claims the Triforce of Courage and returns to Zelda. The three triangles unite into the collective Triforce, and Link’s wish awakens Zelda. And the game ends as they (probably) kiss under a falling curtain.

The ending is so cutee :) In my timeline this will go after ‘The Legend of Zelda’.

Ok, in the week that I have been away, I have been devising a timeline plot thingymaboby thing. I will post a photo of it as soon as I can.

The Legend of Zelda

This was the first Zelda game ever made. But that doesn’t mean it’s the first one in the timeline……

Link he come to town…. Ha lol. That was completely irrelevant. When Ganon, prince of darkness appears and steals Princess Zelda Hyrule is plunged into darkness. Zelda, in order to save the land, takes the Triforce of Courage and shatters it into eight pieces spread across Hyrule in eight different dungeons. Link collects these and puts the Triforce of Courage back together. This Triforce part enables Link to break the barrier around Ganon’s domain (Death Mountain) and when Link finally defeats him, Link picks up the Triforce of Power from Ganon’s ashes and brings the two pieces to Zelda, therefore restoring peace to Hyrule.

I actually have no idea where this one goes. I will have to do research. Maybe I’ll create a new ‘branch’ on the timeline and start that from there. But as I said. I need to do more research. Will update you when it is done :). Until then, keep reading!

Why does my computer have to crash all the time! Sorry about this guys :(

Majora’s Mask

This game also follows up from Ocarina of Time like Wind Waker.
After the events of Ocarina of Time, Link and Epona set out in search of an old friend (friend??!!) called Navi, as at the end of Ocarina of Time Link and Navi go their seperate ways. On his way through the woods, Epona gets startled by Tatl and Tael (fairies…. No not again!) and Link falls off her back. Skull Kid appears…. Except this time he is no friend of Link’s! He is possessed by Majora’s Mask which he stole from the Happy Mask Salesman. He then steals Link’s Ocarina and makes off with his horse. Link follows him into a tree and fall down a hole. Here Link ends up in a place called Termina, which is like a messed up version of Hyrule. The Happy Mask Salesman (totally creepy guy btw) tells Link to regain his lost mask from Skull Kid, but he only gives you three days. Link has to keep on turning back time. Then Link discovers that Skull Kid wants to bring the moon down on Clock Town so Link has to summon four giants to keep the moon up. At the end, the mask disappears into the moon and Link follows. Inside the moon is a green meadow with a lone tree in the middle. Around the tree are five children - four wearing the masks Link collected from the giants and one wearing Majora’s Mask. If you want the Fierce Deity mask then Link has to play ‘games’ with the four other children. This mask makes beating the final boss a breeze. Link talks to the Majora’s Mask kid and he warps Link to the fight area which he calls a ‘game’. So creepy.
So yeah - this game is the scariest Zelda game I ever played. In the timeline, it must ‘branch’ off Ocarina of Time as it follows directly after it. Hmm. Interesting :) :) :)

Phantom Hourglass

Literally like half an hour ago I completed this game. The final boss…… just read.

A couple of months after the events of Wind Waker, Tetra, Link and the crew set off in search of the ominous Ghost Ship. Tetra climbs aboard and gets abducted. Link tries to jump on the Ghost Ship after her, but fails due to LIMITED GAME PLAY. Seriously. I should have seen that one coming. Annnyyywwwaaayyysss Link gets washed up on a mysterious island….

HEY LOOK LISTEN

Nooooooooooooooo! Damn it Navi! Except this isn’t Navi. Her name is Ciela. And she is just as annoying as our good old friend *cough* enemy *cough* Navi. So she takes Link to the Ocean King (an old dude named Oshus) who tells Link to fight through three temples to get three fairies. We also meet a very sarcastic sailor named Linebeck who lends you his boat throughout this quest. He is my favourite sidekick. He is HILARIOUS. When Link gets to the last temple, the fairy appears but she has no words…. she is the awakened form of Navi! Erm I mean Ciela….. The fairies lead Link to the Ghost Ship where Link has to rescue four Cubus sisters who look like dolls (and totally suspicious by the way). They then challenge Link to a game of volleyball with lightning. Totally creepy right? When you defeat them they give Link the key to where Tetra is…. but she has turned to stone! OMG I never knew the game wouldn’t end there! Oshus appears (where from I have no clue) and tells Link of his past and who Bellum is (evil guy who cause havoc around this place…wherever it is). Link then has to find three pure metals to forge the Phantom Sword which is the only way to defeat Bellum. Great. Another three temples. Link then gets the Phantom Sword and go and defeat Bellum who is….. an eyeball boss. Wow. Unique. The only cool bit is when he possesses Linebeck and turns him into a phantom which Link has to fight. Then there’s a really awesome ending (no joke) which I won’t tell you in order to leave you in suspense and go and buy the game. Hahaha.

This is again part of the ‘Toon Link’ series of the Zelda games. We are still on the same line, as these events follow that of Wind Waker. We’re getting onto something here…..!

Oops

Sorry about not posting yesterday. Computer crashed.

Wind Waker

Now. I have this game on my Gamecube, and yet, I felt that it wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. I mean - for the final boss fight, Ganondorf’s last puppet form is a worm that moves around the stage so quickly like it was on crack or something. Weird.

Anyway. This is set after the events of Ocarina of Time. The story of Ocarina of Time is told at the beginning. It’s Link’s birthday and because he is of age, his Grandma gives him a set of Hero’s clothes, said to be worn by the legendary hero of time so many years ago. When he returns to his sister, she gives him her present which he can only borrow for a day (pointless much). It’s her treasured telescope! As Link is looking around he spots Tetra (Zelda as a pirate all non fans) being carried by a bird. Link saves her and then his sister gets kidnapped and in order to save her he goes on his quest to save the whole world as well.

In the timeline, this has to be somewhere near Ocarina of Time. Since the plot of Ocarina of Time is mentioned at the beginning this has to be linked to the game. It’s also the start of the ‘Toon Link’ part of the Zelda series (Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass follow this Toon Link pattern).

Link

I thought the Link I just posted was relative to my blog. So funny :)
